After an active day on the slopes, nothing sounds better than indulging in your favorite beverage alongside a warm crackling fireplace. Table the goggles and gloves; here are six of our favorite après ski hotspots in beautiful Stowe, Vermont.

Idletyme Brewing Company

At Idletyme Brewing you will find a healthy serving of European style beer with a Vermont twist. If you have a hard time choosing between a crisp IPA and a smooth porter, try six beers at once with their famous “brew-ski.” Or, satisfy your appetite with Idletyme’s full menu including charcuterie boards and Pale Ale Battered Fish and Chips.

The Roost at Topnotch Resort

Think high-class meets modern cabin. The Roost at Topnotch has an atmosphere you won’t find anywhere else in Stowe. Dine on a contemporary menu featuring dishes like Short Rib Tacos and meat and cheese plates. Then take in a game of shuffleboard at the dining bar, or sink into their oversized couches.

The Matterhorn

The Matterhorn is the hippest spot for après ski in Stowe, including a delicious menu with dishes like lobster sliders and award-winning gourmet brick oven pizza. Weekend visitors are treated to live music featuring up-and-coming musicians and bands.

Solstice

Solstice is a prime location for skiers coming off the mountain, especially for those with a soft spot for wine. As for food, a full-service menu changes on a regular basis to keep it as fresh as the ingredients used to create the dishes. We love the Lobster and Truffle Risotto and Smoked Chili Glazed Rack of Lamb.

The Hourglass

For a more casual après ski lounge, skiers unwind at the Hourglass. Sip on creative cocktails or microbrews from the area, and dine on a contemporary bistro style menu made from fresh local ingredients. Try the Philly Cheese Sliders or the Cider Braised Pork Belly Burger.

Sunset Grille & Tap Room

Feast on award-winning southern BBQ and smoked meats at this 27- year-old family-run grill in Stowe. If there is a game on after skiing, this is the place to be with their Tap Room complete with 30 TV-screens and craft brews on tap like regional favorite, Harpoon Brewery’s, UFO White.
